Throne of Trust

Overlay was presented with a rare opportunity — the design of a standalone bathroom set within the landscape.

Conceived as a frameless glass enclosure, the structure recedes almost entirely, reflecting sky, terrain and planting so the architecture appears to disappear. A one-way mirror introduces privacy while allowing the experience to feel both exposed and protected.

Monolithic stone and precisely detailed fittings anchor the space, their solidity contrasting with the transparency of the enclosure.

The design balances humour and refinement — an unexpected moment within the landscape.
